God is not an element both in religious fanaticism and atheism alike
by exWTslave inin my intimate conversations with many of my atheists friends i have found that their real problem is the human rights abuse of the religious fanaticssomething which god hates (not the lack of proof for gods existence) (means when the religions went to one extreme, their opponents go to another extremethus god is not at all an element in religious fanaticism and atheism alike) atheists shun, belittle or resist proofs for the existence of god, because they fear it will only further strengthen the religion from which the fanaticism arisethus object of atheists attack is fanaticism (not god) .
hence what atheists do is really a service to the humanity (while fanaticism is a crime against humanity).
hence when the atheists ask for proof for the existence of god, one need not take it seriously.

Service meeting week of November 3rd! How to indoctrinate children
by stuckinarut2 inoh yep...here we go..... this weeks service meeting has a part designed to show how children should be indoctrinated and manipulated into going "out in service".
the part first asks for the disturbingly corny cartoon clip to be played on the big screen at the halls: "lets go out in service!".
(if you haven't watched it yet, please go to jw.org and watch it....you simply won't beleive it until you see it!).

Conveying ideas by printers ink has furnished the opportunity for much cheating and lying. Much of our news [own work] has been false propaganda, in the interst of the few, to control and keep in subjection the minds of the many.
They got that bit right too, so I guess it must be on to something....

can anyone tell me how to fly under the radar of the elders?
by purrpurr ini have all my family in the cult and was brought up in it myself.
although mentally i'm out if i leave i loose all my family and that would break my heart.
i've somehow got to fly under the radar and not be detected.

Your family may not be as harsh as you expect, as long as you take it slow, dont panic them and give them time to adjust then they may be quite accepting. I could have quit about a year sooner than I did had i not been so hung up on my familys reaction.

Does The State Have The Right To Quarantine Someone Because They Might Have Ebola?
by minimus inno doubt you have heard about the nurse that thumbed her nose to the state and went out of the house in spite of being ordered to stay at home.
what is your opinion on this?.
.

She's stupid and selfish. of course the state should have the right to quarantine anyone as long as the reason is a clear and present danger and not an excuse for political ends.

by Island Man inwas it designed?.
rabies' purposeful mode of transmissionrabies is caused by a number of lyssaviruses that attack the cells of the nervous system disrupting their normal function.

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

The cross sectional area of the "nails" used might have some bearing (bearing get it? ) on the outcome.
A large square section nail with about 13mm or above shaft width near the head would be capable i would have thought of holding a man up by both hands / wrists. If the head is quite a bit larger than the shaft (say 40mm+) then it will act as a clamp when hammered home enabling even more weight to be suspended.
i dont care either way, cross or stake, if he existed at all he was just another deluded fool.
